잎을 만다라엽이라 하며, 이름에서 알 수 있듯이 유독식물입니다. 흰독말풀의 모든 부분은 매우 독성이 강한 트로판 알칼로이드가 위험 수준으로 포함되어 있습니다. 중국의 전통 의학에서 사용되는 50 가지 기본적인 약초 중 하나이지만, 가축과 애완 동물을 포함하여 사람이나 다른 동물에 섭취되면 치명적일 수 있으니 주의가 필요합니다.
