모하비 국립보호지역 찾아가는 길 (2015)

모하비국립보호지역을 가려면I-15 과 I-40에서 가는 길이 있습니다. I-15에서는 Exit Kelbaker Road at Baker, Calif., Zyzyx Road, Cima Road, Nipton Road 등을, I-40에서는 Exit Kelbaker Road, Essex Road, Goffs Road 등을 이용하면 갈 수 있습니다.

LA에서는 I-15 N 과 I-40 E를 차례로 타고 갈 수 있으며, 230마일 (약 4시간) 정도 걸립니다.

I-10 E와CA-62 E/29 Palms Hwy를 이용할 수도 있으며, 247 마일 (약 4시간 40분) 정도 소요됩니다. Mojave National Preserve를 가는 길에 Joshua Tree N.P.를 들리고 싶을 때 이렇게들 가기도 합니다.

I-40 E 를 타고 달리다 보면 Needles 표지가 나오고 (Needles Fwy) 계속 가다 보면, Exit Kelbaker Rd 과 Exit Essex Rd가 나옵니다.

모하비 국립 보호구역(Mojave National Preserve)의 비지터 센터(Visitor Centers)는 3곳이 있는데, 바스토우(Barstow)에 있는 Headquarters Information Center를 제외하면, 모하비 국립 보호구역(Mojave National Preserve) 내에는 Kelso Depot Visitor Center와Hole-in-the-Wall Information Center, 2곳이 있습니다.

I-40 E 를 타고가다가 Kelbaker Rd에서 나가서 22마일 정도 더 가게 되면, Kelso Depot Visitor Center가, Essex Rd 에서 나가서 20마일 정도 더 가면Hole-in-the-Wall Information Center가 나옵니다.

Kelpaso Dunes 근처에 있는Kelso Depot Visitor Center는 40번을 타고 가다가는 다음과 같이Kelbaker Rd를 타고 북쪽으로 22마일 정도 더 가면 됩니다.

15번에서는CA-127/Kelbaker Rd exit toward Death Valley로 빠져나가 남쪽으로 34마일을 더 가면 됩니다.

Hole-in-the-Wall Information Center

Hole-in-the-Wall Information Center를 가기 위해서는Essex Rd에서 북쪽으로 좌회전 하면, 보호구역으로 들어가는 것을 알려주는 표지판이 나옵니다.

Essex Rd에서 10마일 정도 북쪽으로 가면 Black Canyon Rd가 나오고, Black Canyon Rd를 타고 10마일 정도 더 가면Hole-in-the-Wall Information Center가 나옵니다.
