네바다에의 라스베가스(Las Vegas), 리노(Reno)와 함께 3개 카지노 거점 도시 중 하나이며, 네바다, 아리조나, 캘리포니아 등 3개 주가 맞닿는 이른바트라이 스테이트(Tri-State) 지역에 위치해 있습니다.

제법 풍부한 수량으로 흐르는 콜로라도 강의 야경 또한 볼만합니다.

휘발유 가격은 매일 확인을 해야 하기는 하지만, 일반적으로 캘리포니아에 비해 네바다와 아리조나가 월등하게 싸기 때문에 이 지역을 거쳐가야 한다면 니들스보다는 라플린이나 불헤드 시티에서 넣는 게 좋다고 합니다.

Nipton에는 1910년에 지어진 유일한 호텔이 있습니다. 이름은 호텔이지만, Bed & Breakfast라고 보는게 맞을 것 같은.

호텔은 방은 총 4개이며, 그 앞에 거실과 두 개의 목욕실을 공동으로 쓰게 되어 있습니다. 호텔 바로 옆으로 기차길이 지나갑니다. 예민한 분은 밤에 지나가는 기차 소리에 잠에서 깰 수 있습니다. 공동 세면장이 싫으신 분이나, 잠잘 때 예민하신 분들은 불편하실 수 있습니다.

하지만, 이곳 아니면 어디서 이런 분위기를 느끼겠냐고 생각하시는 분들은 오히려 좋아하실 수도 있습니다.
