줄여서 VMFA라고 부르는 버지니아 미술관은 미국 버지니아주 리치몬드에 위치합니다.  

미울관은 1934년 설립되었으며, 건물은 1936년에 지어졌습니다.

버지니아주(Commonwealth of Virginia)에서 소유하고 운영하고 있습니다. 미국 남부에서는 최초에 설립된 주립미술관 중 하나로 일반전시는 무료로 일반인들에게 개방되어 있습니다.

전시공간의 면적 기준으로는 북미 최대 미술관 중 하나로, 고대부터 현대까지, 유럽, 아메리카, 아프리카, 아시아 등 다양한 지역의 작품들을 소장 및 전시하고 있습니다.
