외형:
월영녀는 20대 후반의 아름다운 여성과 비슷한 모습을 하고 있습니다. 긴 검은 머리카락 끝에는 은빛이 감돌며, 달빛을 받으면 머리카락이 안개처럼 반투명하게 변합니다. 피부는 창백하지만 차갑고 죽은 사람의 피부와는 달리 은은한 빛을 발합니다. 눈동자는 짙은 남색이며, 감정을 드러낼 때 눈 안쪽에 작은 초승달 무늬가 나타납니다. 전통적인 한복을 현대적으로 변형한 긴 검은색과 은색의 옷을 입고 있으며, 발이 땅에 완전히 닿지 않는 것이 특징입니다.

서식지:
주로 깊은 산속의 오래된 소나무 숲과 폐사찰, 사람이 거의 찾지 않는 호숫가에서 나타납니다. 특히 보름달이 뜨는 밤에 활동이 활발해집니다. 달빛이 물에 비치는 장소를 좋아하며, 비가 내린 직후의 숲에서도 자주 목격됩니다.

특징:
월영녀는 인간을 무조건 공격하는 요괴가 아닙니다. 길을 잃은 사람에게 나타나 조용히 올바른 길을 알려주기도 합니다. 그러나 자신이 지키는 숲이나 호수를 함부로 훼손하는 사람에게는 매우 적대적으로 변합니다. 사람의 목소리를 흉내 낼 수 있기 때문에 숲속에서 가족이나 친구의 목소리가 들려오더라도 쉽게 따라가서는 안 된다고 전해집니다.

크기:
키는 약 165~175cm 정도이며, 인간 여성과 거의 비슷한 체격을 가지고 있습니다. 그러나 분노하거나 능력을 사용할 때는 몸의 일부가 달빛과 안개로 변하면서 최대 약 3m까지 거대해질 수 있습니다.

공격성:
평상시에는 낮은 편이지만 자신의 영역에 침입자가 들어오면 공격성이 크게 증가합니다. 특히 숲의 나무를 베거나 호수를 오염시키는 행동을 하는 사람에게는 매우 위험하게 반응합니다.

특수능력:
첫 번째 능력은 「월영」입니다. 달빛을 이용하여 자신의 모습을 여러 개의 환영으로 만들어 상대를 혼란스럽게 합니다.

두 번째 능력은 「몽환의 목소리」입니다. 상대가 가장 그리워하는 사람의 목소리를 완벽하게 흉내 내어 먼 거리에서도 상대를 유인할 수 있습니다.

세 번째 능력은 「달빛 이동」입니다. 달빛이 닿아 있는 장소라면 자신의 모습을 안개처럼 흩어 다른 장소에서 다시 나타날 수 있습니다.

네 번째 능력은 「기억 읽기」입니다. 상대의 눈을 바라보면 최근의 기억이나 강한 감정을 읽을 수 있습니다. 다만 과거의 모든 기억을 자유롭게 읽는 것은 불가능합니다.

약점:
월영녀의 힘은 달빛에 크게 의존합니다. 달이 완전히 가려진 밤이나 햇빛이 강한 낮에는 능력이 크게 약해집니다. 또한 자신의 이름을 정확하게 세 번 불린 상태에서는 환영 능력을 사용할 수 없게 된다는 전설이 있습니다.

인간을 무차별적으로 사냥하지는 않지만, 한번 적으로 판단한 상대에게는 강력한 환영과 정신적인 능력을 사용하기 때문에 일반적인 인간이 상대하기 어렵습니다.

관련 전설:
옛날 깊은 산속에 작은 마을이 있었는데, 어느 해 극심한 가뭄이 찾아왔다고 합니다. 마을 사람들은 산속의 오래된 호수를 발견하고 그곳에서 물을 얻으려 했지만, 호수 주변의 나무를 마구 베어 버렸다고 합니다.

그날 밤 보름달 아래에서 한 여성이 호숫가에 나타났다고 합니다. 그녀는 자신을 월영녀라고 소개하며 숲을 더 이상 훼손하지 말라고 경고했다고 합니다. 그러나 마을 사람들은 그녀의 말을 믿지 않았다고 합니다.

다음 날 아침, 호수 주변에는 수많은 나무 그림자가 사람의 형상으로 서 있었으며, 숲에 들어간 사람들은 자신이 가장 그리워하는 사람의 목소리를 들었다고 합니다. 그 목소리를 따라간 사람들은 결국 호수 근처에서 길을 잃고 밤이 되어서야 돌아왔다고 합니다.

그 후 마을 사람들은 숲을 보호하기 시작했고, 이상하게도 그해부터 호수의 물이 다시 맑아졌다고 합니다. 그래서 월영녀는 단순히 인간을 해치는 요괴가 아니라 자연을 지키는 달의 수호령이라는 이야기도 함께 전해집니다.

Appearance:
The Moonshade Woman appears as a beautiful woman in her late twenties. Her long black hair has a subtle silver glow, and under moonlight it becomes slightly translucent like drifting mist. Her skin is pale but emits a faint, unnatural radiance. Her eyes are deep navy blue, and tiny crescent-moon patterns appear inside her irises whenever she becomes emotional.

She wears an elegant dark traditional Korean-inspired outfit decorated with subtle silver patterns. Her feet never completely touch the ground, making her appear to float slightly above the earth.

Habitat:
She inhabits ancient pine forests, abandoned temples, and secluded lakes deep within the mountains. She becomes particularly active under a full moon and is often associated with quiet lakes reflecting moonlight.

Characteristics:
The Moonshade Woman does not automatically attack humans. She sometimes appears before travelers who have become lost in the mountains and quietly guides them back to safety.

However, she becomes extremely hostile toward people who damage the forest or pollute the lake she protects. She can perfectly imitate human voices, especially the voices of people whom her victims deeply miss.

Size:
She normally stands around 165–175 cm tall and has a human-like physique. When using her full supernatural power, however, her body can transform into moonlight and mist, allowing her apparent height to reach approximately 3 meters.

Aggressiveness:
Normally low, but extremely high when her territory is threatened. People who cut down trees or contaminate her lake are considered especially dangerous targets.

Moonshadow: She creates multiple illusions of herself using moonlight, making it almost impossible to determine which one is real.

Voice of Dreams: She can perfectly imitate the voice of someone the target deeply misses and use it to lure them deeper into the forest.

Moonlight Passage: As long as moonlight reaches a location, she can disperse into mist and reappear somewhere else touched by the same moonlight.

Memory Reading: By looking directly into someone's eyes, she can sense recent memories and powerful emotions.

Weaknesses:
Her supernatural abilities depend heavily on moonlight. Her powers become significantly weaker during the daytime and on nights when the moon is completely obscured.

According to legend, if someone correctly speaks her true name three times, her illusion abilities temporarily disappear.

Related Legend:
According to an old mountain legend, a severe drought once struck a small village. The villagers discovered an ancient lake deep inside the forest and began cutting down the surrounding trees to obtain water more easily.

That night, beneath a full moon, a mysterious woman appeared beside the lake. She introduced herself as the Moonshade Woman and warned the villagers to stop destroying the forest.

The villagers ignored her warning.

The following morning, strange human-shaped shadows were found standing among the trees surrounding the lake. Those who entered the forest began hearing the voices of people they desperately missed. Following those voices caused them to become hopelessly lost.

Eventually, the villagers stopped destroying the forest and began protecting the lake. According to the legend, the water gradually became clear again.

Because of this story, the Moonshade Woman is remembered not simply as a dangerous yokai, but as a mysterious guardian spirit of the forest and the moon.
